There are several versions of TextQuest/Refo including commercial use. The versions are available for different durations and user groups.

Trial version: free trial versions are available for MS Windows for 30 days so that you can try out all the options at your leisure. After 30 days, this version can be converted to a full version with a key. For MacOS, there are currently only single licences with an unlimited term.

The versions differ in their scope of services:

  • Basis:
    Languages: English, German
    Text genres: non-specific, technical, fictional, non-fictional, children's books, school books, political texts
    Readership: non-specific, children up to 10 years, young people from 11 to 18 years, soldiers
  • Standard:
    viele Sprachen: many languages: English, German, French, Spanish, Italian, Dutch, Flemish, Afrikaans, Danish, Icelandic, Norwegian, Polish, Swedish, Turkish
    Text genres: non-specific, technical, fictional, non-fictional, children's books, school books, political texts, instruction leaflets for medicines
    Readership: non-specific, children up to the age of 10, young people aged 11 to 18, soldiers, learners of foreign languages
  • Premium:
    Languages:English, German, French, Spanish, Italian, Dutch, Flemish, Afrikaans, Danish, Finnish, Danish, Icelandic, Norwegian, Polish, Portuguese, Czech, Slovak, Croatian, Slovenian, Swedish, Turkish
    Text genres: unspezifisch, technische, fiktional, nicht-fiktional, Kinderbücher, Schulbücher, politische Texte, Beipackzettel von Medikamenten
    Readership: as Standard
  • Professional:
    As Premium, with additional vocabulary module. This shows word lists, all combinations of words depending on the number of words, or all permutations within a sentence (which words occur together).

Licence terms

  • Licences are available for one user, 5 users, 10 users and a company licence for all computers in a location.li>
  • The licences have a duration of 3 months, one year and unlimited duration.

User groups

  • Commercial: the licence may be used for commercial purposes, e.g. evaluations and sale of results.
  • non-commercial: for users in non-profit organisations, e.g. NGOs, public organisations such as authorities.
  • Educational: licences for schools and universities. There is no licence for students, instead a three-month licence can be purchased at the corresponding price.
